LEARN HOW TO SPELL HTML

LINKING GOVERNMENT WITH ITS CITIZENRY
The missing link to connect governments with constituents might be just that, a missing link. Governments with Web sites have unlimited opportunities to communicate with residents, but sometimes the communication isn’t what it should be because the Web sites lack easy-to-use links. Bryan M. Gold, communications manager for non-profit Public Technology, Inc., writes about ways governments can provide links on their Web sites using FrontPage. For more, go to:

GREAT FRONTPAGE-BASED WEB SITES
The Entertainment Department UK Ltd., an entertainment provider to 25 holiday resorts in England, Scotland, and Wales, needed to improve team communication and training. Realizing that an online solution could improve the efficiency of their operation and help them recruit new entertainers, gather feedback from their park managers and visitors, and provide marketing support for both their park teams and manufacturers across the country, they chose FrontPage to help them build a Web solution. Find out more at:

Iconofile is a non-profit organization devoted to those interested in icons and icon painting while promoting preservation of the art. Early on, the founders realized that a Web site could help them accomplish their informational objectives, raise money to support the organization's future plans and activities, and create a robust online community, encouraging volunteers to donate time, money and articles. Tips and Tricks

HTML FORMATTING AND OPTIONAL REFORMATTING
You can tell FrontPage 2002 how your HTML page should be formatted, from how many indents should come before each tag, to whether or not to use optional tags. By default, FrontPage preserves the formatting of existing HTML, but applies new HTML formatting to content you add to the existing page. HTML formatting is viewed in the HTML pane. The formatting options you choose will apply to all pages you create in FrontPage. New in FrontPage 2002 is the ability to take a page that has been imported into your Web and reformat the page according to your preferences.

To apply your HTML formatting preferences to a Web page, open it in FrontPage 2002 and do the following:

1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the HTML Source tab.
2. Click Reformat using the rules below.
3. Under Formatting, select the options you want.
For example, if you want all tags to appear as lowercase instead of uppercase, select Tag names are lowercase.
4. Under Tags, select the tag and attributes you want.
For example, select Body, and then change indent to 12 spaces.
FrontPage will change the HTML pages you create in FrontPage to use these formatting rules.
