Create an E-commerce Web Site with FrontPage
2000 or 2002
The
bCentral Commerce Manager Add-in for Microsoft
FrontPage® will provide you with all the tools
you'll need to create, update and manage a fully
powered e-commerce Web site. After you install
the add-in, all you have to do is sign up for a
bCentral Account, create a product catalog, run
the E-commerce Wizard, and customize your site
to suit your needs.
Installing
the bCentral Commerce Manager Add-in
The bCentral Commerce Manager add-in provides the
following two new features:
- E-commerce
menu (on the Tools menu)
This enables you to add products,
manage orders, view your settings,
view the Seller Console, log out, and
run the E-commerce Wizard to create
and update your e-commerce Web site.
- E-commerce
toolbar This allows
you to perform tasks specific to your
FrontPage e-commerce Web site. You can
insert product field information,
product photos, shopping cart feature
buttons, and links to other pages in
your site.

Install using
FrontPage 2002
To install the Microsoft bCentral Commerce Manager Add-in, you must be in Page
view on an open page.
- In the Normal
pane, position the
insertion point on the open page.
- On the Insert menu, click Web
Component. This will bring
up the Insert Web Component
dialog box.
- In the Component type pane, click bCentral
Web Components.
- In the Choose a bCentral
component pane, click bCentral
Commerce Manager Add-in.
- Click Finish,
and then follow the instructions on the
screen.
Install using
FrontPage 2000
Creating
a product catalog
To create a product
catalog in your bCentral Commerce Manager
account, do the following:
- In FrontPage, on the Tools menu, point to E-commerce, and then click Add
Products. This will take you to bCentral.
Notes
- If are not
currently logged in to your bCentral
Account, enter your e-mail address and
password in the Log in to bCentral
box, and then click OK.
- If you have
not yet signed up for a bCentral
Account, click the button next to I want to sign up for
bCentral,
and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions in the bCentral Commerce Manager to add products,
associate them with departments, and list them to My FrontPage Web
Site.
- Return to FrontPage and create your e-commerce Web site.
Creating
an e-commerce Web site
After you've created your product catalog in the bCentral Commerce Manger,
associated your products with departments, and listed your departments to My FrontPage Web
Site,
you are ready to create your e-commerce Web site. You can do this in one of two
ways:
Create a new FrontPage e-commerce Web site
Using FrontPage 2002
- On the File menu, point to New, and
then click Page or
Web.
- On the New Page or Web task pane, under New from Template,
click Web Site Templates, and then click E-commerce Wizard.
- Under Options, specify
the name and location of the new Web site, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard, and then click Finish.
Using FrontPage 2000
- On the File menu, point to New.
- In the New dialog box, click Web, and then click E-commerce
Wizard.
- Under Options, specify
the name and location of the new Web site, and then click OK.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard,
and then click
Finish.
Run the E-commerce Wizard in an existing FrontPage Web
site
- Open the existing Web site to which
you want to add e-commerce features.
- On the Tools
menu, point to E-commerce, and
then click E-commerce
Wizard.
- Follow the
instructions in the E-commerce Wizard, and then
click Finish.
