Positioning Text in Shapes Using Cell Properties
Microsoft FrontPage® version 2002 provides PowerPoint-like drawing tools to create great effects for your web site. You can add text to drawings and to any shape in a drawing. By using cell properties you can further control the exact position of the text.
To control the position of text using cell properties, open a new or existing page in FrontPage 2002, select the Drawing icon from the main toolbar to start a new drawing, and do the following:
- In Page view, click on AutoShapes on the Drawing toolbar, then click
Basic Shapes and select a choice.
- Place your cursor in the new drawing canvas on your page and click&drag to create your shape.
- Place your cursor anywhere on the new shape, right-click, and select
Add Text from the shortcut menu.
- Enter text in the shape, then right-click in the shape and select Cell Properties… from the shortcut menu.
- In Cell Properties under Layout, select options from the Horizontal alignment: and
Vertical alignment:.
Tip: You can also adjust the position of the text by changing the size of the text box. Place your cursor over the dotted line to the right or underneath the text. When the cursor changes to a double-ended arrow,
click&drag to change the text box size.
