FrontPage 2002: Using the HTML Tools Add-in
Microsoft FrontPageŽ HTML Tools Add-in for Microsoft FrontPageŽ 2002, allow
you to quickly access and modify Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) tags directly
while you're editing a page in Normal Page view. While editing a page in the
Normal pane, you can insert HTML by using an HTML Markup component. The HTML you
insert is added by using a Microsoft FrontPage web component that protects code
that FrontPage might not recognize.
First, download the HTML Tools Add-in file from the Microsoft Office Tools on
the Web site at
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/fphtml.aspx.
After installing the HTML Tools Add-in, open a Web page in FrontPage 2002 and
do the following:
- To make the HTML Tools toolbar available, in the View menu
point to Toolbars and select HTML Tools.
- In Page view, move the insertion point to the area you want to edit
on your Web page (the HTML Tools toolbar will display the HTML tags
affecting your current selection).
- Click the tag you want to edit on the HTML Tools toolbar.
- To wrap a new tag around the currently selected tag, click the Wrap Tag
button and enter a beginning tag (<b>, <form>, etc.).
- To edit the currently selected tag, click the Edit Tag button.
- To remove the currently selected tag, click the Remove Tag button.
- To insert additional HTML code on your Web page, move your insertion point
to the location you want, and click the Insert HTML button.
Tip: FrontPage does not verify the text or HTML you type for
correctness or reformat it when the page is saved. And you cannot use the HTML
Tools Add-in to edit HTML tags that were created by applying a theme nor use
this Add-in with an Input Method Editor (IME).
