Setting Up the Source WebCreating the WebThe next step is build a source Web that will hold the shared border Web and eventually the entire Web template. But for now, make a single page disk Web by bringing up Microsoft® FrontPage® and then selecting the File->New->Page or Web.
This will bring up the "New Page or Web" panel. then select the "Web Templates..." item. From the "Web Site Templates" Dialog (shown above) select the "One Page Web" icon, name the Web in the "Specify location of the new Web" text field and then press OK. The new Web should now appear in the FrontPage editor. Setting Up the Shared BordersIn the Design section, you should have decided on the wrap-around type which will dictate which shared borders should be enabled.
Now open the index page and select the Format->Shared Borders... menu Item. In this tutorial, the Top, Left and Bottom borders with Navigation bars in the Top and Left borders will be enabled as illustrated in the picture above. Setting up the NavigationSeveral pages will need to added to the to the Web so that the navigation Webbot will produce navigation bars. The easiest way to do this is press the "Navigation" button in the "Views" panel and then right click on the Home page and use the "New Page" menu item add several images to the navigation view. Move at least one page to the top level as illustrated below. You may also wish to rename the pages in the navigation view as well.
Now press the "Page" button in the "Views" panel and select the top border navigation component and set it to Global Level.
After this, your page should look something like this:
