Develop An Email Newsletter-Step 3 (cont) Next I open FrontPage, which opens a blank new page by default, I click on the new page where I want to insert the image and choose from the menubar near the top of the window, Edit:Paste. Alternatively, I can also paste by right-mouse-clicking where I want the image to appear, then choosing "paste" from the menu list that appears. See below for a blank new page with my graphic inserted
If you have images on disk, rather than capturing them from an existing Web page, follow these steps: 1. Open FrontPage. FrontPage opens to a blank page, in the "page" view by default. This is exactly what you want. 2. With a blank page open, from the menubar near the top of the window, choose Insert:Picture:From File then navigate to the location of the graphic images you plan to use, choose the one you want and click OK to insert that picture into the page you have open. Repeat this process until you have all the graphics you plan to use, inserted into your newsletter document. They will probably just be randomly arranged, but not to worry: we will get organized shortly. I am just going to use the one image. When creating an email newsletter, "less is more" is a good principle to follow. Use as few images as you can to minimize the download time for your recipients. They will appreciate the consideration. My image is much too large for this application, but for now I will just resize the image dynamically, using FrontPage. Later, I will use my graphic editing program to reduce the actual image size so that it will minimize the bandwidth load. To resize the image in FrontPage, click the image to select it, then click and drag a corner "handle" until the image is the size you want it to be. My image resized for use in the newsletter is shown below.
